Science Prompts Discovery SARAH STRINGFELLOW U. of Gct.-gia, B.S Chemistry JUDY MILLER Shorter College, B.A. Biology Lab experiments require accuracy in technique and observation. 28 Biology, Chemistry, Physics-through these courses the Science Department introduces the student to the field of experimentation and discovery. A staff of expert teachers guides students to the recognition of their goals in science and encourages each one to participate in individual research—to exceed the level of the required and to aim for the ultimate of his ability. Class field trips and extra experiments indicate a thought-provoking method of devloping future scientists. During the summer of 1966, Valley was one of twenty-five high schools in the nation invited to the National Science Foundation Summer Study Program at the University of Chicago. This honor, along with numerous other awards presented students at annual science fairs, attests the excellence of Valley's science program.
