We Tried To sTarT our year off righT in The area of service projecTs. A bunch of us spenT our lasT week of summer vacaTion up here aT The school, help- ing The Teachers geT ready for every- body. Samuel E. Causey, Jr. Seniors. We'd finally made iT To The final year of high school, one way or anoTher. Okay, so maybe some of us seemed a liTTle cocky when we Talked abouT RaT Week or graduafion. BuT deep down inside, above all else, we wanT- ed To be differenT - differenT from any of The senior classes ThaT came before us. And we Tried our besT To make ThaT goal a realiTy. The firsT Thing was being The only SMCS senior class so far To enTer Their senior year debT-free. And iT sure felT good. We Tried To keep ourselves money- sTable by having all kinds of fundraisers - Nacho sales. bake sales, chocolaTe sales, Chick-Fil-A sales - The lisT goes on and on. Our sponsor, lvir. Canevaro, was full of suggesTions. The fun parT came when one of lvlr. C's suggesTions fell Through. Taking a break from Their car-wash, seniors Joe SeiferT and Brian Wilbanks waiT for The nexl' cusiomer. As a class, we were preTTy close. Oh, There were The fighTs, The break-ups, buT mosT of all, There was a cerfain respecT we had for each oTher ThaT was sTronger Than personaliTy conflicTs or disagreemenTs.
