A dream come true, was the thought on the mind of every member of the charter graduating class as they recived their diplomas. Commence- ment exercises were held in the S.M.I. sanctuary on May 26, 1985 at 6:30 RM. Jenny Miller was the Valedictorian and Amy Palmer was Salutato- rian. As part of the exercises, some outstanding students were recognized Jamie Thrasher and Amy Tucker were honored wrth the Citizenship Award while Earl Hawkins received an award for his service to the school A Journalism award was given to Jenny Mrller and Suzanne Lemond re ceived the Music Award The Sports Award went to Peter Loh The memorres made on this first graduation will last a hfetxme Dr. Berry leads the Senior Chorus. Brian Anderton finally makes it Karen Boozer gladly receives her diploma.
