He reached his peak in the Phillips game when he stopped the Crimson offensive cold, Bob will not be back next year either. Fred Hahn tright tacklel. Teddy Bear is Cahaba's only returning varsity man. A junior this year, big things are expected from Fred next year. Albert Grundmann. Albert. played a good game as eighth man on the line. Albert, a senior, will not be hack next year. Billy Mitchell. Jack was one of Cahaba's unsung heroes opening up holes for the backs the score through. Jack turned in a mighty good season as anyone will tell you. Denny Ward tfeft guardl. Denny, another one of the graduating seniors, came into Cahaba's lime- light his last year and teamed with Jack Edwards to give Cahaba as fine a pair of guards as any other school. PHILLIPS---CAHABA With the hard work of Coach Mitchell, Coach Murphy and the will of the boys The Mountaineers won over the highly favored Phillips team with a score of 21 to 7.

NOT IN PICTURE: Douglas Wilkens, Homer Singletary, Jack Oliver. BASEBALL... Cahaba's baseball team with three varsity men back, .roared with vengence into the County playoff with a record of 4 wins and 2 losses. In the first game Jeffco turned back Mathews and Cahaba 5-2. Cahaba bounced back to smother Hewitt at Hewitt 11-1. The next week Leeds fell 14-0. Cahaba journeyed to Jeffco and didn't fare so well getting beat again 5-2. Cowart's homer was the blow of the game. Leeds again was victim of Cahaba's attack 8-5. And in the three-time rained out game, Cahaba entered the playoff on a 7-5 win over Hewitt.
