FOREWORD This school year has been a memorable year. It has seen many important changes. It has seen boys seventeen and eighteen goto war, it has seen peacetime occupations transformed into wartime occupations, and of greatest interest to us at this time, it has seen the old Central High School transfer its occupants to the new J. W. Sexton High School. For the past five years, the eager hope of every class coming into Central has been that their class would have the honor of attending the new school. When this dream became a reality this year, everyone--student body and faculty-joined in the immense task of moving. Indeed, J. W. Sexton High School is the dream come true. The spacious halls, the light and colorful rooms, the well-equipped gymnasium, the modernistic library, the up-to-date science laboratories, the music rooms for every purposeiall these and many other features combine to make it one of the most modern and artistic schools in the country. The student body, looking back at the grand old traditions of Central High School, is looking forward now, not only to the upholding of these ideals and achieve- ments, but also to the establishing of even better traditions for the new J. W. Sexton High School. Page Eight
