Guidance The Guidance Services which provide a trained, experienced director and stat? are interested in the student as an individual. This division helps the student to become a more efiective person. Health The main obiective of our department is to determine the health status of the stu- dents by annual medical and dental examina- tions. We then suggest any corrective measures necessary. Besides keeping accur- ate records of pupils' physical conditions and rendering first aid in school, we make neces- sary recommendations concerning the health aspects of the school plant and the hygiene of instruction.

Music Aiming to develop a lasting apprecia- tion of music in all interested students, our Music Department provides a wide program of music education. Courses in instrumental and vocal music are the means through which the department attains this goal. Application of a student's knowledge in music is provided through participation in such organizations as the Choir, Band and Orchestra. Art The Art Department ofters courses that enable the student to develop a better ap- preciation of art. Students may take courses in design, fashion illustration, drawing, and ceramics. Field trips are taken to the various art museums, and outdoor classes are held for sketching. Each month, approximately forty new books are received and put on SHS shelves. A trained library stat? gives added aid to students in finding necessary ma- terials.

' Office Staff Registrar Office The complete high school histories of every student at Sewanhaka are filed in the Registrar's Office. Statistical reports on en- rollment figures, age charts, registrar reports and working papers are prepared by this office. The Registrar also enrolls and checks all students entering or leaving Sewanhaka. Throughout the day, many teachers come to this office to do work pertaining to the edu- cation and welfare of students. The Sewanhaka Office Staff provides efficient service for the students, faculty, and public. Locker supervision, budget control, teacher certification, public relations and many other duties are carried out through the mails and via personal contact. Through the use of modern office equipment, such as accounting machines, dictographs, dicta- phones, and addressographs, our hard work- ing staff is able to handle the volume of paper work necessary to keep Sewanhakcl running smoothly.
