future teachers of america s the future teachers of america organization is one which strives to give its members the oppor- tunity to gain experience in and knowledge of the teaching pro- fession. to accomplish these goals, the members go to an elementary school where they teach the classes for the day, and they also help high school teachers in a variety of ways. the severna park chapter of fta is a member of the national associa1:ion of future teachers. the officers at right are marty hopper, presidentg patty swindell, vice-presidentg mary stroh, secretaryg and janet anderson, treasurer. mrs. ann mopsik advises future teachers fnot shownj.

6 are g. wajbel, 1. taylor, and b. blanchfieldg and the trea- C 21 business training sends man into the Working world the official name of co-op is cooperative education. the purpose of this organization is to assist state associations in the growth and development of co-op, to promote understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in our free, competitive enterprise system, and to further develop a respect for education in data pro- cessing and clerical office practice which will contribute to vocational competence. the members of this club attend school for a half-day and then go to work. mr. francis evans and mrs. patricia wilhoit serve as co-advisors. due to job hours the co-op students were unable to form at one point for a club. thus, individual officers were chosen for each class to carry out club business. the presi- dents are j. schneider, r. sawyer, and g. ridgeg the vice- presidents are d. bost, j. hunt, and j. bauerg the secretaries surers are r. mauk, n. shearer, and p. sauter. co-op A... af ln' 1 fy PA gg fi rf .5 Q . A deca, the distributive education clubs of america, is the nation-wide youth organization for high school and post secondary school students. its goal is the development of future leaders for marketing and distri- bution. the purposes of this club are two-fold. one is to develop a respect for education which will contribute to occupational competence, and the other is to promote understanding and appreciation for the responsi- bilities of citizenship in our free, competitive system. the members of this club attend school the first half of the day and then work the other half to put their business skills into practical use. the officers pictured at right are john Walters, president, stewart sutherland, vice-president, linda pack, secretaryg donna simpson, trea- surerg bill fish, parliamentariang and fred bradbury, publicity manager. mr. william fintzell serves as the advisor. li

fbla sponsors successful spaghetti dinner the severna park chapter of the future business leaders of america develops competent business leaders and tries to create an interest and a better understanding about business occupations p and techniques. this year fbla sponsored a spaghetti dinner and a candy sale, and also they made an r annual contribution to the library. the ibla members hope to attend their national con- vention which will be held in dallas, texas in the summer of 1969. the officers pictured at right in- clude from left to right, sue jacob- son, presidentg beverly tryon, first vice-presidentg doris schriefer, second vice-presidentg jo ann szyzepanik, treasurerg lois glaser, secretaryg kathy weber, reporterg and sandy layne, historian. mrs. lena clemmer serves as the advisor. fha attends regional meeting the future homemakers of america is a club to help make girls better homemakers. in today's fast paced and often frantic world, a cool and com- petent homemaker is a basic necessity to keep her family on a steady course. this year severna park high school's chapter of fha attended their regional and state conferences. the club picture at right was taken at their regional conference at northeast high school. the officers pictured below are president, sandra pulley Knot presentjg vice-president, linda markeyg secretary, debbie hensong and treasurer, burma lee manns. mrs. frances middleton serves as club advisor.
