tri-hi-y promotes high character tri-hi-y, an organization of the ymca, endeavors to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community, the high standards of christian character. the club gives all members an opportunity to participate in the social and charitable affairs of the community. this year the tri-hi-y mem- bers were quite busy with filling a thanksgiving basket for a local needy family, sending a christmas package to vietnam, and of course, sponsoring bake sales to finance their activities. the club picture in the bottom shows the girls standing in a triangle, the symbol of the organization. miss julia rogers advises tri-hi-y. the officers are pictured at right including inez rixse, presidentg chris ranes, vice-presidentg chris meyers, secretary, and jan estes, treasurer.

social science holds mock election the social science club is designed to culturally benefit its members and offer them opportunities for experience in the fields of the humanities and government. in collaboration with the social studies department, the club held a mock election to determine the presidential favorite of the student body. they also made trips to the national gallery of art and the state department, and they held bake sales. mr. arthur tassey is the advisor to the club. the officers are at right and include bruce hasfirther, president, david riegal, vice-president, karen muhl, secretary, and debbie hollis, treas- urer.
