l N view of the fact that tennis has just been initiated at Seneca, the green indians of Seneca, under the able in-
struction of Coach Henry Banas, had a rather successful season. With a nucleus of about four boys, who had some
experience the previous year, Coach Banas had some finer points of tennis, which he taught to his boys.
A tennis team in school competition is made up of seven players, consisting of three single players rated first,
second, and third, and two teams of doubles. After school competition was over, Seneca had a record of three vic-
tories and three defeats, being lower though in individual matches. The teams which Seneca subdued were Burgard,
South Park, and Bennett. The teams which excelled Seneca were East, Technical, and Kensington.

Art and Layout Staffs
Y OU can listen to the Editorial Staff brag all day on how important it is to the success of THE CHIEFTAIN, but
all of its work would be of little avail if it weren't for the professional touch of the Art and Layout Staffs.
The Photography Staff, of course, takes all the action shots that add color to the yearbook. The develop-
ing, printing, retouching, and other tasks necessary are all aptly performed by these boys.

Laying out the design rs naturally the chief duty of the Layout Staff. The members o t e sta orgam e
entire book and produce the "dummy" yearbook.
The interesting illustrations on the separation pages, the clever cover design, and the topical cartoons are
all the products of the art staffs.
l am sure you will agree that a happy combination of the three staffs has been attained, by their unstinted
and untiring efforts, the visual story of your years at Seneca will always be kept fresh in your memory.
