Varsity Soccer had an exciting and competitive season, but unfortunately ended the year with a final score of one win and ten losses and a tie. The team spirit and constant effort was evident in each game. We were competitive in every game we played. Six of the games we lost by only one goal, says Coach Hudock. The team stuck together all season, even through the injuries of Mark Shane and jerry Habarth. Anyone who came to the games was witness to a clean, fast paced game. Some of the ups and downs of the season were that they gave up an average of a goal per game, but scored less than one goal per game. The captains of the team were jay Midgley, jeff Poland, and David Frey. Named most valuable player was jay Midgley. 1. Ronald Christy kicks the ball over his head. 2. -l Golf Takes State! This year's Golf Team was the strongest Seneca has seen yet. They finished with a final record of 19-1 and a first in the State Tournament. The top four players were Clare Dolan, Ed Dolan, john Nelson and Steve VanZutphen, with David Gu- larson and Randy Barnes as alternates. The State Tournament was a fantastic display of talent. This talent was evident through the entire season. . The team was very close, like a family. They supported and helped each other. The team had strength and depth, and that's what made this season a success! says Coach Tur- bull. There were some disappointing moments. These came when the undefeated team lost the last match of the regular season and when they lost the County Championships by one stroke. All in all, this team's success was one they and Seneca can be proud of. 'l. L to R, Back:Coach Turnbull, Ed Dolan, David Gularson, Randy Barnes, Chris Doser, Robert Young, Steve VanZutpen.
