Ns H lJl7ies Arthur C. Nord, a graduate of the l.'nis'ersits' of Southern California, is our hand director. Mr. Nord started teaching in 1921 and came to Selma to teach in 1938. His hobby is playing the violin and his special interest is composing music and. of course, the Selma High Band. Miss Almeda Nordyke came to Selma High in 1918. This was her first high school teaching iob. She attended W'hit- tier College and the University of Califor- nia, One of Miss Nords'ke's hobbies is col- lecting ss-ild flowers. She teaches Biology and General Science. Richard livrn Ovs'en's home town is in Yuba City, California. He started teach- ing at Selma High in 1947. He teaches boys' physical education and American history. His hobbies are skiing and Swim- ming. He attended Yuba College and the College of the Pacific. Miss Anna Marie Peterson chooses as her hobby, flowers and gardening. The colleges she has attended are Colorado State Teachers College, Occidental College and the University of California. She resides at 1625 Floral Avenue, Selma, California. ,lohn Quade's home town is in Onida, South Dakota. He enjoys golfing, tennis. photographs' and has done some free lance writing. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Stanford. This is Mr. Quadc's first year as vice prin- cipal. Carl Tanke, who came to Selma in 1937. had lis'ed in Spokane, Vfashington and had started teaching in Milan, XY'ash- ington. He attended liastern Washington. University of Washington, and Stanford University. His hobbies are hiking, fish- ing, golfing, and reading. Nelson W'alling's hobby is plaving the pipe organ. nia and his lligh music forma. l'le C ollege. Vernon is in Reedlev ing in 1946. His hobbs is golf. 11e shoots the game in the low nineties. Iohn XY'ood. a graduate of Stanford L'nisersitv came to Selma in the fall of I9-Hi. His first year of teaching started in I9-Hs. Mr. XY'ood's main hobbies are ice skating. gardening and reading. His home town is San Francisco. His special interest ls different personalities of people.
