i Navigation and Administration Navigation is basically a department all its own. Not only are the navigator and his assistants responsible for getting us from point A to point B, but the navigator is also tasked with orchestrating the smooth administration of several important ship-wide operations. The Medical Department, for instance, falls under the direction of the navi- gator, as do the Command Master Chief, the Command Career Counselor, the Chief Master at Arms, and the ever-important postal clerk. lt is, however, the primary responsibility of the navigation team to know where we are and where we're going.
