SOPHOMORE HISTORY On September, l9u9, twelve freshmen began the1r llfe at S R H S Of these twelve, only s1x had been classmates all durlnv the grades They were Donna Emigh, Mary Goscha, Eugene Rome, Margaret Shrader, Bernlce Vaughn, and Cletus W81S Through the years, Joyce Pope, Dick Frlendly, Fr1tz Mumm, V1rg1l Koerper1ch, B111 Helus, and Pat Thomas jolned our class As freshmen, we chose the following class offlcers Eu9ene,Rome,Pres ldent, B111 Helus, V1ce presldent, Donna Emlgh, secretary treasurer and class reporter Mr Lukinchook was our class sponsor At the end of the f1rst semester Pat Thomas transferred to Flagler, Colorado, leavlng only eleven freshmen The1r were many highllghts dur1ng our freshman year Of course, one of the ma1n ones was lnitlation No one seemed to mund wearlng pajamas, havlng an onlon around his neck, havlnp a green face, etc Our f1rst class party was November 7 In December, the freshmen and Juniors gave a fare well party for Pat Thomas, a grand f1n1sh was put on our freshmen year by havlng a welner roast at Ooerlln Lake just before school was out After the welner roast, we all went to the slow and then skatlng at the P1ne Cove The fall of 1950 found the same eleven members of our class beglnlng their sophomore year Persons elected to f1ll class offlces thls year were PT6SldP1f, 6111 Helus, v1ce pres1dent, Cletus Wels, secretary treasurer, Eugene Rome,class reporter, V1rg1l Koerperlch We chose Mlss Bolton for our sponsor Although we have had no class parties, so far thls year, we engoled the all school Christmas Party very much We hope to have many more good times before the end of the school term It 18 to be regretted that V1rg1l Koerper1ch w1ll leave us 1n March to attend Corning High School, Corning, Kansas n.n 0 ,1 J 9 A 0 . . - . - a a . . . . . . 4 ' 0 , 1 4. - A 3 . . . . . o ..
