E eeutive Officer Commander Robert Lange , W W X X! 1 f I J If X CDR Robert J. Lange is a native of New Orleans, LA. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve and commenced two years active duty in 1967, spending nearly eighteen months of this period deployed to the Western Pacific onboard USS HENRY W. TUCKER IDD 8751, Returning to New Orleans, he affiliated with the reserves, spending eight years with vari- ous surface units, including five years with COASTAL DIVISION TWENTY TWO. In 1977, CDR Lange returned to active duty as a Quartermaster First Class, serving in a temporary Active Duty Reserve billet at Navy Recruiting District, New Orleans. He then attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, and was commissioned in October 1978. Since commissioning, he has served as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Weap- ons Officer on USS DAVIS CDD 9371, Damage Control Assistant and Auxiliaries Officer on USS SAN DIEGO IAFS 63, and Combat Systems Officer on USS FAHRION IFFG 221 and USS NASSAU ILHA 41. Ashore he has served as a Seamanship Instructor at Naval Officer Candidate School and Plans and Operations Officer at Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, RI and Command- ing Officer Naval Reserve Center, Kingsport, TN. CDR Lange's decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star, Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star, Navy Unit Commendation with Bronze Star, Meri- torious Unit Commendation with Bronze Star, Battle Efficiency tthree awardsl, Naval Reserve Meritorious Medal, Navy Expedition- ary Medal with Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star. Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal lThree Campaignsl. Southwest Asia Service Medal IOHC Campaiglll, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Three Bronze Stars. ommand Master Chief LICM Henry Moss he Master Chief Henry L. Moss was born 30 June 1954 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Max S. Hays Senior High School in 1972. On 18 Sept 1972, Master Chief Moss entered Recruit Training at Great Lakes, Illi- nois. After successfully completing boot camp, he was assigned to his first ship, USS CAMDEN IAOE 21. His following assignments included Commander, Naval Telecommunications Command in Washington D.C., USS SARATOGA KCV 601, USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER ICVN 691, Fleet Intelligence Center Europe and At- lantic in Norfolk, Virginia, USS MOUNT WHITNEY CLCC 201, Supreme Allied Com- mander Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia, and is currently serving as Command Master Chief on- board USS SEATTLE IAOE 31. Master Chief Moss has been awarded the Joint Service Commendation Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal lGold Star in lieu of second award1 Good Conduct Medal lwith three stars1, National Defense Service Medal lwith one star1, Vietnam Service Medal lwith one star1, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and various unit and service awards. Master Chief Moss is married to the former Elizabeth Marie Goings of Washington D.C.. They have three daughters, Keshia, Roben. and India.
