TUDE T THE SEAMAN STUDENT COUNCIL, under a new system, is now composed of four elected students from each of the three classes. The advisors, Miss Ward, Mr. Lauffer, and Mr. Frederick, supervise the election meetings, and other activities of the council. Students work to better student-teacher and student- student relationships, to maintain and further develop the name, spirit, and tradition of Seaman High School, to stimulate scholastic achievement, and to provide a forum of student expression. Students elected to the council must possess above-average civic responsi- bility in the home, school and community. Students must also maintain at least a C average in school work since representatives are respected and provide leadership for the entire student body. Representatives to the student advisory council are sophomores--Connie Metz, Bernie Williams, Janice Smith, Larry Gregg, juniors--Sandy Brooks, Ann Lolley, Mike Estes, Russ Robinson, seniors--Susan McKay, Patricia Milliken, George Randall, and Ray Smith. Among the accomplishments of the student advisory council are a new consti- tution and by-laws, a dress code, a successful Winter formal, and student ex- changes with local high schools . Dancing to the music of the Washburn Rural Toppers and strolling through a garden complete with a wishing Well and goldfish added to the enthusiasm for tl'1e Deep Purple Fantasy winter formal. Students learned how other schools compared with Seaman through student ex- changes with high schools of Topeka, sponsored by the student advisory council. FIRST ROW: Milliken, Brooks, I. Smith, R.
