COOPERATIVE Industrial Training fTrade and Industryh was a new class this year for Seaman students. Students attended two hours of required subjects, two hours of T gl I classes, and then each individual worked on-the-job in the afternoon. The T 81 I club sponsored the sale of sweatshirts for Seaman students. The group took several field trips during the year. A first place trophy was won for their club display, Bridging the Gap be- tween School and Work, at the Spring Leadership Conference held at Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. Each student entered a contest at the Leadership Conference. April 30, the club held the first Employer- Employee Banquet to honor their employers. ART THE FINE ARTS department provides the opportunity forlearning to appreciate and interpert the classics in music and in art. The music department aids the individual in appreciating the numerous experiences of good music, promotes social development, and widens cultural horizons . Students learn to respect and recognize the great musicians, composers, and their works . Knowledge, gained from a study of design and color, is applied, with various media, to the following ART problems: nature drawing, still life, landscape, figure drawing, perspective, in- terior decoration, architecture, and community planning. The home economics curriculum has a new 1964 look as a result of its cor- relation With home economic offerings at Northern Hills junior High.
