SE-HI Pandonn Pribtic Library PN a F Astieseio, North Carotna Edited by The Senior Class of 1967 SEAGROVE HIGH SCHOOL Seagrove, North Carolina Our Editor EDITOR’S MESSAGE As our ancestors before us, the people of this generation will go down in the pages of history to be read by our successors, Some of this generation will be recog- nized by distinctive qualities of character, leadership and intelligence; others may not be outstanding for such qualities; yet, everyone will assume an important role as an individual in this magnificent world, We will not be greatly remembered for our teen age fads and music but we shall be remembered for our deeds in conquering new goals and reaching unlimited horizons, What we shall gain in valuable knowledge .and experience will be sought after and utilized by future generations while our young and eager minds will have become aged like a fine cheese or vintage of wine. We must be the guides to direct those who follow us just as todays leaders and especially our parents have so effectively influenced our lives. We the class of ’67 with great pride, present this edition of the Se-Hi to you in the hope that it may one day bring back pleasant thoughts and memories of “‘ole’’ Seagrove High, Gary King We Dedicate this the twenty-sixth edition of thessE;— HI to Fred Lovin friend. “Ours G. the a uote deliberately : | a - | . ee founded on a good Loe . The river opened, the helm loomed onward For ninety children bent to sail. The clouds lifted-the fog cleared away One and all-ninety all; To the rail! The first eight years of the mighty trip Were filled with laughter and tears When boys were risky and girls quite frisky, As teachers hovered always near. We often missed the nearest course, Pe And met many a deep-sea whisk But we were warned by captains rare And winked at the rivulet risk. Our ship rushed into the whirlpool Of those wonderful high school years, And the seething swirl of testing Opened new tears, sighs, and fears. Yet now our ship is guiding To the dock of the rivers portal, And on we cast an armor of faith To meet the challenge of mortals. As Seniors we pledge to the river's run: We shall ever loyal be, Fare thee well, dear Seagrove High Our love and hopes are always with thee. We were proud of our thirteen FHA State Degree winners. Our Junior year was climaxed by If You Wish Upon a Star, a solo sung by Darrell As- bill at the 1966 Senior Class Night Program. Seniors! Dale Maness was chosen as class president while other offices were held by: Ronnie Auman, Marie Beck, Cecil Haithcock and Peggy Matthews. Our sponsors were Mrs. Tillman and Mr. Coble. Now we sigh proudly as upper classmen and yet, very deeply for we know our years at Seagrove are rapidly being written on the pages of history. Soon we will be among the many who have taken their places as graduates of Seagrove. Now that the day for receiving our diplomas has arrived; we must leave the preparation for life behind and begin to activate those plans. With the past serving us as a wise captain, we embark on a new journey - a journey during which, Time will test our ability and decide our success. We smile - we are ready to meet that challenge.
