SCOTTSDALE CHRISTIAN O I O eyga 6,9 Q . fig -Af tp I- i . 3 Sig ill iiig wg iii !! Egag :Z tn . Q, 71 'X 4 ff ' ' 4 A C A D E VI HIGH SCHOOL 1984 Philosophy: While education in a Christian context does not guarantee truth, it does seek to establish the starting point apart from which ultimate truth can never be learned. It becomes essential, therefore, to establish the direction for education from this Christian perspective and the following statement has been drawn up in an attempt to make this clear as related to Scottsdale Christian Academy. In no sense should it be considered as the last word, but it purports to be the foundational concept upon which scholarship under God may thrive and expand. Starting with the belief that God is the source of all truth, education becomes the exciting adventure of seeking to appropriate knowledge in all its various facets under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Education which is Christian takes for its perspective the Biblical view of God, man, and the universe in their mutual relations. This view of education rests upon the historic Christian faith contained in the Scriptures, symbolized by the open Bible on the seal of the Academy. Holding to the summary of this faith as contained in our Doctrinal Statement, Scottsdale Christian Academy is endeavoring to offer an education which articulates the implications of the sovereignty of Jesus Christ over all of His creation. 9827 N. 32nd Street Phoenix, Az. 85028 996-5657 SCA.f1 4 1 il l l D N l Christian is honored iliil and pleased to dedicate this 1984 yearbook to our friend Mr. David Cavan. They sincerely desire to make this school as best as is possible, and they strive to fulfill this goal in all they do. Truly, when talking of love and how it relates to our administration, I Corinthians 13:4-8a seems very appropriate: Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous, love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecominglyq it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails, TIME IS BUT A FLEETING MOMENT TIME is one of our most valuable commodity - once gone it is non-retrievable. Our board members generously give of their time and Godly wisdom, along with energy and financial backing, in making essential decisions for our school. We, as the yearbook staff, would like to salute them for their hard work and love.
