She al- ways has a new and differ- ent idea Which helps to make the bulletin boards attractive. MISS ALICE CARTER is a sponsor of National Honor Society and the Ushers. She teaches Eighth Grade Engish and Latin I and III. Her Latin students learn to read Ro- man myths in Latin and how to coniugate verbs. MRS. KATY HAWKINS teaches Dramatics and Speech for the Junior Class. She is head sponsor of Thes- pians and sponsors Student Council. She has directed the operettas and the plays, helping the students to put on a better performance. MR. LAWRENCE ALVAREZ is usually seen sitting on his desk discussing a Spanish story or the cases of a noun or a pronoun. He teaches Spanish I and Ill and is a sponsor of the Junior Class. MR. JAMES SAUCERMAN teaches French I and III and iunior English. He can be found sitting on his desk and smiling as he speaks some French to his class or tells them what kind of verse to look for in the next poem that they will read in their literature books. and Foreign W f. Activities Is Duty of Administration Vice-Principal Tom Mihane talks to seniors Carole McClure and Kathy Bindschadler about the re- sults ot the aptitude tests given when they were iuniors. Any student in school who needs to be counseled about a school problem or who wants information about college or scholarships may consult the Principal, Vice- Principal, Dean ot Boys or Dean ot Girls. Each ot these tour people is always ready to tallc to any student who wishes help. ln high school, choosing elective subiects is one ot the biggest problems. Atter talking with Principal l-larold Reeves, a student will tind he must choose his subiects according to what he plans to do atter he graduates. English and social studies courses are required, but varied math, science and language courses may be taken. Vice-Principal Tom Mihane is in charge ot giving all scholarship tests. He helps and advises seniors talcing Regents exams and college entrance exams. l-le also keeps intormation about colleges and universities. their re- quirements, size and tacilities. Dean ot Girls Margaret Jones and Dean ot Boys Ken- dall Massie help new students to adjust in the junior high or high school. They also help any student with problems he has at school or at home.
