He was inferviewed by Echoes sTaff members Gary Lacey, PaTTy Lane and Daughn Dalrymple during his regular press conference prior To The Democrafic rally aT which he spoke. Honors, AchievemenTs, World Travels Recognifion has been achieved aT SHS in many fields. Honors and awards have been accepfed in many special acTiviTies. Travels abroad have been experienced boTh by sTu- denTs and insTrucTors. Dr. Lauren Schwisow, superin- Tendenf of ScoTTsbluff schools. was one of Thirfy edu- cafors chosen To Tour Russia. His Trip, in The Tall of l959, consisTed of visiTs To Russian schools and poinfs of hisforical inTeresT. AT a school assembly, senior high sTudenTs viewed slides and lisfened To an ac- counT of The Trip by Dr. Schwisow. All in all. Fun and trolic amid seriousness provided the needed break in the routine of study and work during the year. Band members prepared precision drills, con- certs and a stage show as well as taking time for clowning. ' Coaches and game captains aroused an en- thusiastic spirit in the Bearcat 'Fans by their speech- es at the pep rallies preceding all home games. Spanish students provided an evening ot hilar- ious comedy and rich. tangy food at La Fiesta Mexicana. Spanish music, dances and a pinata were highlights of the party. After-game dances were patronized by loyal Bearcat rooters who gathered in the cafeteria to relive the thrilling moments ot the game. Some stood and watched: others eagerly awaited the chance to dance. Study, study, study, but then a break with the after-hour capers. Muy bueno! exclaims Senor Gary Lacey after having 'finished his goodies at the Spanish classes' presentation of La Fiesta Mexicana. After- Hour Capers Break Study Routine mgly loans his band uniform to the girls to help them es- tablish their point. . ..And I'll go along with Sid and Steve. Game captain Don Alldredge takes his turn speaking for a pep rally during foot- ball season. I9
