SENIOR SPONSORS Mr Robert Roush 12 F Mrs Margery Argenbright 12 B, Miss Zella Moore 12 D Mrs Louise Rees 12 C, Mrs Virginia Bond 12 E Mr Elvin Covert 12 A Chairman SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 4 who we Aus freshmen began our Journey through Stott High School Our sponsors were Mrs Gilmore Mrs Bond Miss Moore Mr Scholl Mr Lee Mrs Argenbright Mr Jarrell and Mr Blake The following class officers were elected Jerry Shaw president Darrell Williams vice president Jenny Tamplin secretary Ki treasurer and Edw ard Wheatley historian We immediately began striving toward a goal so we selected our class motto with our hands we mold the future Our flower pink carnation Our colors pink and black Those cheering us to victory were Jenny Tamplin Esta Kay Rowley Vivian Watson Peggy Fryman and Judy Tawney As we began our second year only 251 students were eager to get the ball rolling Our class officers were Roy Kingery president Esta Kay Rowley secretary St treasurer and Barbara Gillenwater historian Jenny Tamplm was one of the Miss Scottonian attendant The Sopho more Party was the great es ent that year Our junior year of 259 was an exciting year. Our class officers were: Roy Kingery presi- dent' Darrell Williams, vice-president' Dotty Walls secretary' Willis White, treasurerg and Vivian Watson historian. Our sponsors were Mrs. Argenbright Mr. Covert Miss Moore Mr. Jarrell Mr. Blake and Mrs. Bond. Those inducted into the National Honor Society' were: Jerry Miller Roger Stone Shelia Turner Helena Workman Dotty Walls Patty Hayner Franklin Allan. Charles Antil PaulAtkins Frances Ball J. C. Browning Mary George Byrnside. Caroline Car- ver, Douglas Nelson and Jenny Tamplin. Majorettes were Brenda Harmon Linda Hill Betty Foy. Dotty Walls and Aileen Justice. Dotty Walls was one of the Miss Scottonian attendants. The junior play was Rar1n To Go presented April 3 and was directed by Mrs. Argenbright, Roy Kingery and Caroline Carver represented our class in Charleston for the Know Your State Government Day. Jenny Tamplin was chosen Se c r etar y of the West Virginia Association of Journalism. Roy Kingery won United Nation trip to New York. The Christmas party given lor the seniors on December 18, and the prom May' 8 were the highlights of the year. Our final year only 191 seniors enrolled. Our class officers were: Darrell Williams presi- dent' Willis White, vice-president' Dotty Walls. secretary' Caroline Carver treasurer' Vivian Watson historian . Judy Tawney was crowned Miss Skyhawk her attendants were Jenny Tamplin Linda Hill and Vivian Watson. David Fo rinash and Roger Stone were chosen co- captains ofthe football squad. We received the Boone County Championship trophy. Darrell Williams was chosen for the All Southern Team. David Forinash was chosen for the second team All State. The senior play presented November 20 was d i rec te d by Mrs. Argenbright. Vivian Watson was chosen Miss Scottonian' and Jenny Tamplin was her attendant. December 17 the Junior class entertained us with a Christmas Party and May 13 with Junior-Senior prom. David Pauley was chosen Editor-in-Chietoi the yearbook. J. C. Browning was elected president of Student Council. Mary George Byrnslde was editor of the Scott Argus the school newspaper. We freshman of 1956 who entered the front door of Scott High School seeking we knew not what, now leave May 26, 1960 having attained these: leadership, sportsmanship citizenship and scholarship. 23
