Appreciation Dedication Paul E. Hartrcnft . 5:41 ww- Taday patience, understanding, and confidence are necessary attri- butes for a teacher. They are not only needed in the classroom but also outside the realm of education so that a teacher can help the student to solve the personal problems which arise every day. Patience is necessary because students are human beings. They are perplexed and confused by the world in which they live. Students are be- coming young adults, but they are confused and bewildered. The hopes and aspirations of the future are dawning, but they need assistance to attain them. Patience is needed to assist the student and make him under- stand that he is not alone. Understanding is necessary because the student is alone. Becoming an adult isn't easy and now' he must make decisions by himself. He must realize that others have had this problem before him and that every person, on becoming an adult, has been in this situation. The teacher must show understanding of these problems and aid the student in over- coming his fears. Confidence is necessary because every student will become a building stone in our society. He must have confidence to stand up for his own convictions and responsibilities. He must have the will to be an individual living for the good of the community. Here the teacher must be an ex- ample to inspire the student with the strength he will need later in life, Therefore, we, the Senior class of I964, are honored and pleased to dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Paul E. Hartranft. He is a man who exempli- fies these ideals and has iven the greater part of his life to educating and assisting the students of Schuylkill Haven High School to reach their life's goal. . . . Teacher, example, builder of school spirit, friend, are all titles far our class advisor, Mr. Daubert. From the beginning of our Senior High School days, Mr. Daubert has guided and directed our class in a capable and understanding way. ln the important days of planning our activities, which shall remain with us as some of the most happy memories, Mr. Daubert has aided us in every way. Our proms, graduation activities, and class trip could not have been successful without the guidance and assistance given by him. Al- though it was not easy, Mr. Daubert usually showed great amounts of patience and understanding in every situation. For all these reasons, each member of the class expresses his sincere apprecia- tion To Mr. Daubert. Jacob E. Daubert
