CLASS SONG Tonight we launch -- where shall we cast our anchor? The ship of life sails on, whate'er may fall We cannot tell what destiny awaits, But we shall sail unto our port of call. As we look back upon our log of past days, Our Haven High stands out in letters gold. To teachers all who helped us gain our goals, May life give them the best that it can hold. To friends we've known and cherished all thru high school, Those last goodbyes we really do regret. But those good times, those friends and teachers true And Haven High -- we never will forget. Tonight we launch - where shall we cast our anchor? That future life is coming into sight. With God's great help, hope for success is near. We now embark upon the sea of life. Lyrics - IANICE IMBODEN Music - DoRoTHY HORNING IAMES KEITH Class Motto: Forward Ever, Backward Never Class Colors: Blue and Silver Class Flower: White Rose CLASS POEM SENIOR'S ADIEU We, the Class of 53 must finally say good- b e, Tlo the teachers we really loved and to our Haven High, We think of all the fun we had, our parties and our friends, But deep within our hearts we know, the joy that never ends. Our thoughts will always ring back to, our final, last good-bye, And some of us, yes, most of us will utter a mighty sigh, For we all know, that here we must forever leave behind, Our friends, our joys, our sorrows -- a new world now to find. And where 'ere you may roam, be it far or near, Always face the future with courage and cheer. And more than words can tell you, and more than we can express, May God bless you and protect you, and lots of success. RICHARD LEE WILLIAMS, 12-C and SAMUEL H. STRAMARA, 12-C 16
