NVith our efficient and energetic staff this year, we found that putting out a yearbook is fun. Most of all, our deep apprecia- tion goes to Mrs. Ann Kelly, our adviser. It seems unfair that for all her diligent work we can merely say thank you again and again. To our readers we say that we hope you enjoy the 25th anniversary issue, the Schuy-Log of 1959. The boys and girls who are the players on Schuyler's stage are given excellent training in all phases of dramatics by our able Mrs. Gleeson. Schuyler's Varsity basketball Falcons cap- ped a 14-3 season in 1957-58 by winning the Eastern B league championship for the eighth time in 11 years. However, the terrific success that Coach Larry O'Neill has enjoyed in league competition caused the other five schools so much discomfort that Schuyler finds itself with- out any league affiliation in 1958-59. Despite the fact that athletic officials contacted over 70 schools, only 10 games appear on this season's schedule. Traditional foes, Albany High and Vincentian, are joined by Iiavena-Ccieymans, Ockawamick and Troy High in home and away games. The 1958-59 Falcons are led by speedy but small Gene Cole who acts as captain of a talented squad which includes several outstand- ing performers. Chief among these are brilliant shotmaker Sherman Chambers. rebounder Al Francis, rugged Neil LButchl Campolungo and 6'3" sophomore Halter XXI-tliers. Unexpected help is being provided by football star Bob Barth who is making a real battle to play on the starting five. Q ' B Others on the squad who show lots of hustle and drive are Cheves Catoe, XVilliam Folderman, Philip XVhineglass, Dennis O,Brien, a transfer from Cardinal NIcCloskey5 Peter Peno, Anthony Robilotto and Otto Hannemann. NVe at Schuyler hope that 1959-60 will find us once again in a "B" league where we right- fully belong in all sports. il' Rs U' F' ' 7 4 L, unior Varsity .-pqp l Y If 1 ' ' A ,gif 5 fy -aaa :eff iw 1 ' f, ' ff K, ff X , I ft-3,4 , ,.
