041451 . 1 GL55 QC? Carl Carter After spending a few successful years with Tootie and a few with Barbara, Carl decides to raise hogs the rest of his life. He is very successful with his hogs, and he says that raising hogs is cheaper than raising children. Betty Crawford Betty is living in a pretty little house two blocks from Q the Mennonite Hospital where she is a nurse. After marrying Wcharlien Simmons, she convinced him that he should become a Doctor. They have two little boys, Lloyd and Tuffy. They get good medical care and Betty and nChar1ieU are very happy. Junior Fear Junior hunted around several years all over the United States to find a woman that was good enough for him. He didn't find any, so he came back to Saybrook and found Betty Daily still single. They were married, and now they are living in Fear's basement with one daughter named Colleen. I wonder who named her???? Eva Grant In 1956 we find Eva making her home upstairs in the Hale house. She is living happily with her husband, Bob Hale, and her four year old twin girls, Neva and Eva Jr. Neva Grant Neva is married to Kenny Brodack, but at present they aren't living together because Neva is in Hollywood starring in the new Walt Disney film nThe Three Little Pigs.n She is the big bad wolf, of course. When she returns, Kenny and she plan to continue farming on a small farm near Bloomington. Babe Hawthorne - As you drive by the old Hawthorne residence you will see a beau- tiful, modern house built on the corner just north of it. Living in this house is Babe, his wife Beverly, one son and a daughter. The son Eugene, looks like Babe, but the daughter, Irene, looks like Bev- erly. Babe owns a large farm and the family is very happy. Darlene Hill As we look into Darlene's life we find that she is working with her husband, Mackie, on the pipe line. Darlene is driving a truck while Mackie is digging dirt. You can easily she that he is hen-peck already, but they are a happy pair together. John Kammermann John and his wife, Lois, are putting in their time at the Meth- odist parsonage where they are living. John had a difficult time finding a good job after graduating, so he decided to be a preacher. He is very successful at this, and Lois likes it too.

451 41 I0 Irene Hale We see Irene Hale living on a small farm just south of the San- gamon River with two girls of her own. She married John Kirkpatrick after graduation and they had the two girls. Irene is kept busy ' taking care of the girls and doing the housework. Irene thought John had to much work to do so she hired Chuck Paxton for the hired man! Farming is a big job, you know. Tootie Kirkpatrick The sunday after graduating Tootie was married to Carl Carter. She lived happily with him nine years, but at the end of the tenth year, Tootie wished she had stayed single and had remained an old maid. She divorced Carl and took care of their little farm the rest of her days. All Carl left her on the farm was his old hog to feed. Barbara Koopman Barbara is now Mrs. Carl Carter. It seems that after ten years, she convinced Carl that she was the wife he needed. After Carl di- vorced Tootie he married Barbara and at the present they have two sweet little red-headed girls that look just like their mother. Thomas Shubert Tom is quite happy old man by now! He waited for Colleen Taylor to get out of school and then they got married. Tom is working in Chicago and Colleen is taking care of their home located just across the street. They have one boy and a baby girl. The boyfs name is Billy and the girl is Roberta. They are making their married life a great success. Clara Siems We find Clara doing a very difficult job. She is working on the pipe line with her nsteadyn boyfriend, Jim Ott. They are working very hard so that they can make enough money to get married and raise some little red-headed girls like their mother-to-be, Clara. Pat Taylor Along the railroad track west of Bloomington we see an old hut where Pat Taylor and Ted lest are living. It seems that after five years all of Pat's boyfriends and Ted's girlfriends got married, so while they were looking for someone to live with, they found each other. Since Ted is only making a small salary from his work, Pat and he are living in just an old hut by the tracks. Noney isn't everything, is it kids? Janice Tipsord In 1956 we find Janice married to Dick, with four sets of twins, running around their new house which lies across the street from the Mennonite Hospital where Janice is working. They have hired Ted West, one of Janice's old boyfriends, as a baby sitter--and believe me, he really has his hands full---especially when Janice comes home from work! Arthur Woolley Arthur has just started his own printing office and is now head of the Saybrook Gazette. He asked Janice to marry himg but since she wasn't ready to settle down when he asked her, so he is still hoping.
