embr lass .Ekiory The first day of our Freshman year will be remembered for a long time. We started out the year having a class of twenty-four scared freshmen. Soon after the opening day, initation came into effect. The girls were made to wear overalls and shirts turned inside out and backwards. We had no makeup on our faces, and no pins in our hair. The boys wore dresses, and some wo-re hair ribbons. After the school had seen us that way, we put on a Sadie Hawkins Race. We elected the class officers which was new to all of us. Our class advisor was Miss Simpson. President, Jack McNeillyg Vice-President, Charlie Lewisg Secretary, Gayle Baneg Treasurer, Bud Hudson, During our Freshmen year, we had many good times. We had several parties, which always created lots of excitement. Our Freshmen year we had two new mem- bers come into our class. They were 'Donald Gibbens and Clara Bruehl. We were very glad to have them because then we had the largest class in the school. After our summer vacation was over, we came back to school to start our Sopho- more year. This year we had twenty-three members. Edith Hill and Harvey Reynolds left us. Our officers this year were: Dick Evans, President: Charlie Lewis, Vice-Presi- dentg Gayle Bane, Secretaryg and Jack McNeil1y, Treasurer. Our class advisor was Miss Skibinski. For one semester we had a new member, Robert Robinson. From our class four boys played baseball and basketball. They were: Dick Evans, Jack McNeilly, Charlie Lewis, and Dwane Pruitt. These four boys played in the Tri-Valley Freshmen-Sophomore Tourna.ment in which Saybrook won first place. During our Junior year we welcomed a new member to the Junior Class, Floyd Fasking, and we wished Dorothy Fear Lewis much luck in her new life. We ordered our class rings in the early fall and received our rings in January, and we are very proud of them. Some of the Juniors got them with sets. Our carnival was a big success. We cleared over two hundred dollars. Every- body had something to do and was kept busy. Of, course, we were all relieved when it was over. The Junior and Senior Banquet was on May 9. The theme for the banquet was an Indian theme. We had two tents separating the dining rooms and the dancing floor. The tables were decorated with 'tents as place cards, and the menues were kept with the Indian theme. The Freshmen girls served and they were dressed like Indians. ' The Juniors had several parties and we hope to have many more in our Senior year. We were sorry to lose our sponsor, Mr. Leigh, who made a very excellent one. This year our President was Jack McNeillyg Vice-President, Dick Evansg Secre- tary, Betty Thomg Treasurer, Dorothy Fear, first half, Charley Lewis, second half. We all passed to our Senior year with Miss Harper as our advisor. The President was Gayle Baneg Vice-President, Betty Thomg Secretary, Loren Sears, and Treasurer, Lorraine Kammermann. We had our pictures taken by Fine Arts in Paxton. The proofs came back and we were all very happy over them. We received them before Christmas and I imagine many people received them as Christmas gifts. V The class play Young April was ordered. It is a comedy. The play was given the 29th of April. The caps and gowns have been ordered. We are all wearing white ones with red and white tassels on the caps. We have waited for four long years to wear these and now the time grows near. It seems impossible but even so, everyone seems to be happy. We will .graduate May 26th, and it will be the happiest day of our lives. CLASS MOTTO: Aim ever at the best. CLASS COLORS: Green and White CLASS FLOWER: American Beauty Rose.
