 STORI BOOK CHARACTERS COME TO LIFE . M On Thursday afternoon of May 12, the annual celebration of May Day was held at •Saxton Liberty High School, Vera Henness- ey v as crowned Queen of the May by Kenne- th Elder, president of the Senior Class. A brief concert was rendered by the High School Band. Attendants to the Queen were: Seniors: Edith Solomon and Janet Berk- 3tre s sor j Juniors: Elizabeth Masood and Delores Gray; Sophomores: Natalie Barnett and Jean Hooper; and Fre’sKfosn-: -Rose Svitana and Hbrtenste Eldholberger. Preceding the queen was Donny Buckley, the crown bearer. Tho flower girl3 wore Carol Donncr and Marlene Reed. After the crowning the queen, a pageant 7as presented in her honor. Mother Loose (Patty Elder) oponed her book of rhynos. and from it camo Mary ( Anna Mao Shor.tz) and her little lamb. The fourth grade boy did a square dance to Life on .an Ocean Wave . ,;••.! l ’ „ . ■ CLASS OF 'UU MAKES LAST APPEARANCES y • The Baccaluroato Services will bo held at tho Saxton Liberty High School, Sun- day evening, May 28, The Rev. E,R.Yoder presiding. Rev. B.G. Hommor will give tho call to worship. The scripture less- on-Timoothy 1, 1-1A will bo read by Rev. Stewait, and the. prayer rendered by Rat. N.S. Greenawalt. Rev. Paul Dilling will give the sermon after which Rev.E.R, Jfo- der will pronounce the Benediction. Featured too will be two songs by tho - Band, and a piaho solo by Mariar. Weaver- ling. Commencement exercises will be held Monday evoning. May 29» at the Saxton Liberty High School. Rev. N.S,- Grefch- awalt will give the call to worship and address, Vhhidow of Lifo will be pres- ented by Rev. Dr. Hobart McKoohan. Kbn- noth Elder, class president will thon present the class gift. Amoa A. Sharpe, supervising principal, will announce the honors and. awards, after which Earl Bat- 7,o 1, president of tho Saxtoh Liberty Board ct Education, will present the di- pi onus The exercises will close with the sixg i.ngof the Alma Mu tor and tho Ben- ediction will be given by Rev. Bernard Conely. Featured in the program will be tho schools choru3 and band. Then John Brown (Jimmie Grove) and his ton little Indians (Fifth Grade Boys) did their war danco to Ten Little Indians . The children then playing (First Grado Girls and the second grade boy3 and girls) were induced to follow the music of the Pied Piper (Paul Hiquot). Little Miso Muffet (Donna Carberry) - was frightonod from her stool when tho spider (Gilbert Hoover) appeared, while the third grade wore dancing to Please Porridge Hot . Humpty Dumpty (Paul Yoder) fell from his precarious porch and had to be rescued by the turablors. Jack Bo Nirablo (Thomas Risbon) enters 1 so watch the V—Formation dono by a gro 'o e High School Girls. -oOo- Tho Threo Mon in a Tub (Dick Grccna- y ait, Juck Shay, and Jimmie Williams) ' went sailing while tho Irish Lilt was danced by the Sixth Grade Girls. The May Pole''s “tiistross Mary (Diano Taylor) came out to Y ator her human flo- v ors who awnkenod and gathered their coloEod strands of the May Pole. The human flowers (fifth grado and high school girls) then dancod and with grace wound tho May Polo with its gay stroamor3 Tho ceremony ondod v hon tho queen and hnr court loft the Irinrl of Mother Goose»
