0ur Art Theme As our art theme forthe 1946 SAWYER We have chosen a subject which We believe Will be of interest to the entire community of Saugerties. Our theme is lumbering-one of the minor local industries of our day, but an occupation at which the first settler busied himself in a major fashion When he came to Saugerties-probably in 1663. The larger in-- dustries of Saugerties are still interested in lumbering -at least indirectly, for the local paper mills use the pulp which comes from trees. Our artists have endeavored to picture incidents in the iield of lumbering and relate them to our current school activities. THE EDITORS
