Scott Smith, Karey Clements, Lea Herndon, Amy McClure Every year Ms. Atchison takes a group of seniors to Europe. This year the group toured Switzerland, Ger- many and Austria. During the February trip, the travelers had some interesting experiences. They sampl- ed the local food, and at least one of the travelers got food poisoning. They also ran into some of the coldest weather Europe had seen in many years. As all travelers do, our SHS globetrotters packed too much, rushed to make trains and, without a doubt, had the best time of their lives. Washington D.C. This year she took a group of six juniors who traveled to Washington the first week of March along with other juniors and seniors from Mobile County. Once there, the ROTAGs paired up with students from around the country as they saw their government “close up” and learned their way around the nation’s Capitol. Along with their new friends from around the country, they sampled foreign foods, met Alabama’s Representatives, talked about the Iran arms crisis and attended a Broadway play— “by and large,” a busy and fun-filled week. The Media Teen Board presented a Spring Fashion Show to raise funds for the library. Under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Sierra the show was a success. The audience was entertained by the fashions and the models. Congratulations to the Board for a job well done.
