Active in all the phases of school life the Council sponsors Safety Week, Clean Up Week, Career Day, Home- coming, maintains the supply store and gives the morning devotionals. This year the Council formed an Inter-Club Council. Led by the Vice President, the Inter-Club Council co- ordinates the activities of the various clubs and organizations. Membership in the Beta Club is made up of students who have a B average and have accumulated leadership and character points from the ninth grade. These points are acquired by participating in school activi- ties. After being initiated into the club a member must maintain his average and continue to earn character and leadership points. The regular activities of the club in- cludes cleaning the trophy case and com- piling the honor roll each quarter. This year the members also collected money for the March of Dimes and placed numbers on all classroom doors. Mrs. Floyd administers the Beta Club oath to two members.
