F. A. has been quite busy with its calendar events this year, including the initiation of the Greenhands in September and the Father-and-Son Banquet in February. We had a portable radio raffle in November and cleared 110 dollars from it. In January, fifteen boys went to the National VVestern Stock Show in Denver. Every Thursday night we have been selling candy at the buses. ln March the district judging contests were held. The following boys were on the various teams this year: Grain and Potatoes, Glenn Dobev and Ralph McClaughertyg Livestock, Jim Stoeber, Bill Thorne, and Orville Hathawayg Farm Mechanics, Lewis Entz and Milton Mathiasg Poultry, Budde Worker and Donald Hudson. Bill Thome and Everett Crawford received high honors in the 1948 State Grain-and-Potato Judging Contest. Sargent received first in the Crops Judging Contest on March 8 and in the livestock 'udging contest, March 15. At the latter Bill Thome had the second highest number of points, Orville Hathaway, the third, and Jim Sloeber. the fifth. The State Judging Contest was held March 2l and 22. All of the teams received a rating of good, and Orville Hathaway re- ceived a rating of excellent in judging sheep. Page Forty-three

The purpose of our club is: CID to promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satis- faction of home-making, CZD to emphasize the importance of worthy home membershipg C31 to foster the development of creative leadership in home and community lifeg CLD to provide wholesome individual and group recreation, and UD to further interest in home economics. The biggest project we had this year was the painting of the home-ec room. We made stocking dolls and sold them near Christmas time. VVe are planning to have our annual Father-and-Daughter banquet, formal Mother-and-Daughter banquet, and a style show in the spring. Pug: Furry-:wo

Doris and Betty David and Lois Hurt were in Library Club until they moved away. The Library Club members meet once a week for their business meeting. They are responsible for the library at all timesg they keep the books and card files in order, check out magazines and books, and return the books to the proper shelves.
