As the curtain rose, Mr. Cummings was turning his office over to Billy C. for a day. During his reign the town had some of the greatest thrills it had ever experienced. lt was a busy day of passing ordinances, the first of which was to raise money for an athletic center, through this ordinance they legalized gambling at the Blue Eagle, provided that 5070 of the gross profit went to the Athletic-Center Fund. VVhile contracts were being changed, womenls clubs smashed, and teachers' salaries raised, Cyril was very busy making love to five different girls-one right after the other. All ends well for Cyril, who ends up stealing the Mayor's girl.

Blackbum The juniors started their eventful junior year with many plans, hopes, and ideas. Our play Honor Bright helped fill our treasury, along with food sales, concessions at games, buses, band clinic, and carnival. afternoon and evening at Valley View swimming and picnicking on our class party. ln September, the juniors and their guests turned into ducks and spent an enjoyable Because of the death of her mother, Miss Reynolds, our sponsor, was unable to con- I tinue teachingg consequently, we were left without a sponsor. Mr. Darrell Blackburn assumed the responsibilities of sponsorship and very capably led us through the prom and our many other activities. The big event of the year was the junior-Senior Prom held April 23 in honor of the seniors. The banquet, prepared by the juniors' mothers and served by the sophomore boys, was held at the cafeteria and an enjoyable evening was spent dancing by the oceanside to the music of the Key Notes .
