That busy and exciting time of being juniors arrived finally. We went right to work on our class play. We chose A Case of Springtime and really had fun re- enacting the trials of the Parker family with their very teen-age son, Bob Parker. Ordering our class rings was a very big day for us, but the day of celebration was that of their actual arrival. We sold concessions at the football and basketball games trying to raise enough money to entertain the seniors at a banquet and prom. We had the Bingo booth at the carnival and worked like slaves to make it go over. Then we started work on our prom. We chose Fairyland as our theme. After eating a very delicious banquet prepared by our mothers, we went over to the gym for an evening of dancing. The Adams State Dance Band fumished the music. All during the dance, punch, Witches' Brew , was served out of a wishing well. To finish our junior year off in grand style, we held a class party on the last day of school. We went swimming at Valley View. We helped to make the seniors have a very enjoyable graduation by ushering at Commencement and Baccalaureate. Our final year at Sargent High started on Wednesday, September first. We decided to get our first class party of the year over before we really started going in circles. We went again to Valley View swimming. This time we swam under lantem light. Then we ate and threw fire crackers. We ordered our announcements and calling cards from josten's. Of course, we were all hoping that we would get to use them. As Sargent didn't want such a good looking class as ours to graduate without a few pictures of us, we spent an afternoon smiling and looking at the birdie. We chose our class colors of Royal blue for the boys' gowns and the white gowns for the girls for our graduation. On March 24 we presented our senior class play, TISH . Thanks to our director, Miss Monson, it was a success. Early Wednesday morning, March 30, we left on our trip. We went in a school bus driven by Mr. Kelly Boyce. Miss Monson had the task of sponsoring us and it was a task, even though we didn't do anything bad. We all appreciated Mr. Leto Kehler's offer to pay the gas and oil expenses. It helped out with our finances im- mensely. We spent the first night in Roswell, New Mexico, and then went on to VVhite City the next day. We took a tour of Carlsbad Cavems that day also. The next night we spent in El Paso, Texas, and went over the border to Juarez, Old Mexico. After spending Saturday night in Albuquerque, we arrived home Sunday night, a tired but happy bunch. We had our class day on Friday, May 13. Reverend johnson gave the message for our Baccalaureate, May 15, and on May 19 we officially said farewell to dear old Sargent High School. Our theme of Commencement was Pioneers of To- morrow . The years we spent here will be some of our most pleasant memories. Pigs Fift
