Junior Events Our junior Year started out with two important things ahead, the Junior Class Play and the Junior-Senior Prom. Our play was a lot of fun, and we felt that we were well-rewarded for our time when we put on our play before a full house and when we received roses Sent to us by four ex-graduate girls. Of course the play was only one means of eaming money for our prom. We sold pop, candy, coffee, and doughnuts at the football and basketball games. At the carnival we had the Bingo and Roulette wheel. We ordered our class rings in November but did not receive them until the first of February. We are certainly proud of them. The class party was held on a foggy night in January in Alamosa where we ventured to the bowling alley and later to the show. The junior girls were guests at a P.E.O. Tea held in Center. The speaker at the tea talked of the loans and plans to send girls to their Cotty College in Missouri. The junior girls won the championship in the inter-class basketball tournaments. This was due largely to our coach, Mr. Rice. The Iuniors were greatly surprised to hear in April of the marriage of one of our classmates, Lois Entz, to Mr. Don Clark, graduate of '46, on December 6, 1947. BEST WISHES, LOIS. We are honored that three junior girls helped represent Sargent at the scholastic contest in Gunnison. Congratulations, Carrol and Nonna, on being elected president and treasurer respectively of the student body for '48 and '49. The junior-Senior Prom was held May eighth. The banquet was cooked by our mothers and served in the cafeteria. The table was decorated with pastel flowers and white candles, with pastel napkins and nutcups. The Invocation was given by Reverend Johnson. The Welcome was given by Carrol Patterson and the Response by Art Whitmer. Norma Goff played a piano solo, and Christine Edwards and Pat Waters sang solos. Fred Liston gave the prophecy, and Andy Van Nostrand read the history of the Senior Class. After the banquet, the rest of the evening was spent dancing in Fairylund, the theme of our prom. The music was fumished by Adams State Orchestra. I Page T
