CLASS HISTORY A shot r1ngs through the a1rl Lookmg out upon the field of our h1gh school days we behold an BHXIOUS spxnted group of thlrty one hardy feroclous freshmen Wxth the ard of the coach Supermtendent I-hllyer the team surges forward under the leaderslup and gtndance of Capta1n Yvonne Young and Co Captam Steve Kraus Score Keeper D1x1e Lee Roth keeps accurate ac count of the team s progress Taklng the f1rst hurdle freshman 1n1t1at1on wxth the trxumphant air Ch8l'3CI6l'1SIlC to the team, they jogged on through the first year Sharon Everett was added to the staff for awhlle but fmdxng the exert1on too much for them, Gene Benson Sharon Everett Duke Coonrad and Robert Rudloff were forced to drop out of the race Begmmng the second year w1th a change of leadershlp Denny Brass takes over the posxuon of Captam w1th Loren Walker Co Captam Score Keeper IhlS txme xs Yvonne Young and Mr Stephen Prxce IS the very eff1c1ent manager Feehng that the team needed some refreshmg dlversion the coach planned w1th the ald of the team, a hayrack r1de endtng wlth a p1cn1c and this bemg such a ftne moral bmlder theydecxded to have a dance for cond1t1on1ng purposes Aga1n some members Larry Amos and Joyce Catlett were forced to w1thdraw Thls however was com pensated to some extent by the addmon of Joyce Brown and B111 Kelly Advanc1ng now to a hlgher postion Mrs K1dder the manager at thxs t1me suggested that because of the large fmancxal sxtuatlon wluch now ex1sted another offlce was needed For th1s position Gale Howard was added to the staff conststmg now of Denny Brass Capta1n Alan Brown D1x1e Lee Roth was chosen Havtng advanced to suffer compet1t1on 1n th1s race they agreed to try thelr hand tn a dramauc attempt by performlng a play Stars xn Thenr Eyes Havmg 1n creased the team treasury tn th1s way they decxded to celebrate by g1v1ng the trad1t1onalJun1or Senior Banquet and Prom to to the theme of an Evenmg tn Pans Durxng thxs year even more casualues occurred LeeRoy Pxrnxe Darlyne Hazen, Mabel Brown and John McDarue1 were forced to withdraw however Karen Tefft George Gardner Bod Rudloff and Joyce Catlett Jolned the team. Commg now to the last stretch the team, mourmng the loss of Gayle Roach and Karen Tefft but glad for the add1t1on of Verlee Russell sped full steam ahead Wxth the a1d of Mrs Kxdder who was found indispensable dunng the prevrous lap Captam Denny Brass Co Captam Jean Longmore Score Keeper Loren Walker Treasurer Carol Gruber and Pubhclty Edltor Karen Tefft For a record of the team s accomphshments they under the leadershnp of Karen Tefft and Mary Marshall, completed an annual.
