OUR ABLE ADVISORS Encourage our youth for better potential goals Miss Mildred Fisher serves as the Girls' Counselor. She has been specially trained to help each student to attain her highest potential—academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. Miss Fisher has been trained to administer and interpret standardized tests. She is a person to whom girls can talk in confidence. Miss Fisher also serves as sponsor for student council and teaches psychology. Miss Fisher holds a M. A. from George Peabody College for Teachers, Nashville, Tennessee. She is a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Kappa Kappa Iota Society. She has been teaching at Sapulpa High for eight years. Her hobby is travel. Miss Fisher is a member of the First Baptist Church. Miss Fisher Our Counselors Learn Too This busy man, Mr. Clay Carr, serves as Boys' Counselor in addition to Vice Principal. He is a person who is able and willing to help the boys at Sapulpa High. He handles all official attendance records and helps individuals identify their problems. As Vice Principal, he takes as much responsibility as deemed necessary from the Principal. Mr. Carr possesses a Master's degree from O. S. U. He has worked 13 years in the Sapulpa High School system. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, hunting, and golf. Mr. Carr is married and has two fine boys. He and his family attend the First Methodist Church. Mr. Carr 17

Three years ago Mr. Mullen, with his wife and family, came to Sapulpa where he accepted the position as Administrative Assistant of the Sapulpa school system. Mr. Mullen devotes a great deal of his time to church activities at the First Baptist Church. He belongs to a number of organizations which include: Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Life member of N. F.. A., and Oklahoma Elementary School Principals, Oklahoma Assoc, for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Boy Scouts of America Supervisor, Oklahoma Assoc, of School Administrators, and the O. E. A. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from East Central College and his Master of Education from Oklahoma University. In his spare time, Mr. Mullen likes to read or play golf. MISS MARGARET HAMILTON, our new speech teacher, has also been very active with debate teams, plays, assembly planning, the Pep Club, and the teacher's bowling league. Miss Hamilton received her B.A. degree at Central State College. Her favorite saying is, What next?” She attends the Methodist Church. English, journalism, physical education, driver education, and athletics are listed as the many subjects and activities instructed by MR. JACK WILLIAMS. Three out of his fifteen years of teaching, Mr. Williams has taught in the Sapul-pa system. He received his M.A. degree from O.S.U. His many school activities include sponsoring the Pow Wow and Drivers’ Club, and coaching baseball and basketball. MRS. ZELMA CARTER, a teacher at SHS for 39 years, teaches Spanish and Latin and sponsors clubs of the same names. Mrs. Carter, more often called Prof” by SHS students, is the director of all school assemblies and a member of the Faculty Council. She enjoys sewing, cooking, and especially traveling. Prof has traveled in Cuba, Canada, Hawaii, eleven countries of Europe, and every state in the U. S., and her future plans include a trip to South America. She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She received her M.A. degree from T. U. Language Arts offer enriching curriculum English courses, journalism, speech. Spanish and Latin are all included in the Language Arts department. In these classes individual attention is given to each student to further a better student-teacher relationship and to raise scholastic standard. Newness shines forth from these classrooms as shown in the drama department's new stage equipment and dressing rooms, and especially in the up-to-date foreign language laboratory which includes all the latest recording equipment. From these various classrooms will be found the future speakers, linguists, teachers, and journalists of tomorrow. 18 Prof, and her little Spanish Pilots.
