Dur- ing the short time which this club has been in existence, it has proven very successful as a relation between the youth of the school and the local police department. Any stu- dent Who has been given a summons by a law enforcement officer is often given the privilege of transferring this case to the Driver's Club. ln the event of transfer the Driver's Club jury is familiarized with the particular case. After being given a 7 chance to tell the circumstances, the sub- ject is given a theme to be written on some phase of safe driving. The length of the theme is determined by the jury. The main purpose of the Driver's Club is to promote safety around the high school, in driving and in pedestrian safety, as well as youth's safe driving as a Whole. At the end of each year a student is chosen as the safe driver of the year. The sponsors of the Driver's Club are Mrs. Qphelia Crosslin and Mr. Ben Nelson.
