28 Activities The Consultant, Roughing It The Consultant came out approximately every three weeks, and each issue cost 5220.00 to print. The Consultant staff was only granted one-third of the money needed to survive and staff members were frequently raising money. The Consultant focused mainly on Santana life, leaving gossip, and horoscopes and other such columns out. High School newspaper writing builds confidence, independ- ence, and is a good primer for college news writing. Although the staff was larger this year than last, many members branched out into other activities. Of the twenty-two members three were experienced, helping to hold other members together through the hard times. A lit- tle bit of rough weather couldn't keep Consultant Staf- fers down.
