Varsity Football Cheerleaders This year’s theme was “Better than Ever,” and the Varsity Football Cheerleaders knew it was going to be just that when we brought home the Superior Trophy and the Spirit stick! Everyone was so excited we couldn’t wait until we got home to tell the other squads how we did. Last summer was special for the Football Cheerleaders because we shared all of the excitement and happiness with the Varsity Basketball Cheerleaders. It was so much fun doing “That’s the way to win,” with them at the Opening Day Rally. We felt like one united squad, and would like to say, “We love you, Varsity Basketball,” and will never forget “Oh what a Saint Badumbum, chaa, chaa!” There are so many happy memories that each squad shares with one another, like TP-ing football players’ houses, cheerleading camps, football games, and many more. It will be said when our season is over, but we will always be able to look back and say that 1981-82 was “Better than Ever!” Football Cheerleaders Gayla Ivery Becky Hopkins Lori Sande Lisa Meyer Laura Parelia 86 Spirit

Leslie Harris Stacey Pate Kim Mar Samantha Carrillo Frosh-Soph Football Cheerleaders I don’t think any of us will forget this year. It was tough at first, learning to work with each others’ craziness, but we did it! Then we learned that a week’s practice didn’t count if we couldn’t show up for the game, so we worked harder. Practice was fun, although sometimes a pain, but to be good at anything, practice is mandatory. So we practiced and practiced and practic- ed because we were so determined to be “Better than Ever!” It paid off. Our first game was the greatest; we were out there cheering our team on to victory! Remember that bus ride home? Who could forget them, right? Remember the runaway run-throughs and rallies? Yeah, we lived through all the headaches and the good times. We’d like to say “Thank You” to all our friends who supported us at the games, and especially Joni for helping us. Last of all to that special guy on the team, Thank You!
