Girls’ Soccer This year’s Girl’s Soccer Team finished higher in the M.H.A.L. than ever before, with its 3rd place finish. The Saints had a 5-2-2 league record and a 7-2-2 overall record, again the best ever. The leading scores for the Saints were Holly Emrich with 6 goals and Debbie Spina with 5. Debbie also had the most assists with 5. Gloriann Neverve had 5 shut-outs this year as the Saints Goalie and allowed only 10 goals all year. Debbie Pesta Carrie Valdivia Gloriann Nevera Chris Calvello Coach Wade The team selected Carrie Valdivia as the “Most Valuable Player,” Debbie Pesta as the “Most Improved Player” and Stephanie Clark as the “Most Inspirational.” Team Co- Captains were Carrie Valdivia and Gloriann Neverve. Taking first team all league honors were Carrie Valdiva and Debbie Spina, while Gloriann Neverene and Debbie Pesta took second team all league. There were no Seniors on the team, so next year the Saints could be the best team in the league.

Varsity Wrestling This year the Saints Wrestlers were plagued by a number of different injuries and hardships. The season started with a dual meet tournament in which they won 6 and lost 2, placing 3rd overall. Going directly into the M.H.A.L. season, the Saints were without 4 starters. They lost the first 3 duals. However, the test of a good team is the ability to come back. The Saints finished the remainder of the season undefeated (6-3), placing 3rd in the M.H.A.L. At the M.H.A.L. finals, the Saints qualified 6 to the CCS. They were Arnold Khanbabian, 5th, Jason Ng, 5th, Eric DeLa Rosa, 2nd, Rich Fambrini, 3rd, Todd Harman, 6th, Ron Garcia, 2nd, and Ivan Clarke, Champion. Ivan Clarke Eric De La Rosa Rich Fambrini Bill Foster Aron Gaus Pete Gustafson Highlighting the tournament season was Ivan Clarke. Ivan placed: 1st Coast Classic and was MVP, 1st Dr. Abraham and was MVP, 3rd MSJ, 3rd Mid-Cal Championships and M.H.A.L. Champion MVP. Ivan’s overall record is 28-3 with 22 pins. Still to come is CCS and The State Meet. Captains for this year’s varsity wrestling were Jim Metz and Ivan Clarke. 148 Varsity Wrestling
