V The music department offers the opportunities to explore many aspects of performance as well as theory and composition. We offer instrumental as well as vocal music classes to accomodate all levels of ability. The band has ninety brand new uniforms and is working toward some competition parades, as well football shows in the fall. It also will be playing concerts throughout the school year on campus and around the area. The choir performs at various functions throughout the school year with an emphasis on the Christmas season and explores the classic spring concerts. Our orchestra is made up of string instruments only and explores the classic literature for string ensemble. The wind instruments are added occasionally to afford the students the opportunities to play major symphonic works. In the future we hope to present a major musical comedy each year and provide a general and well balanced musical atmosphere for all the student at Santa Teresa. 90 One of our campus philosphers says, If you want to describe Home Ec. in 200 words, just write, Yum, Yum 200 times. Consumer and Homemaking Educa- tion deals with survival for daily living. Home Ec. not only covers the traditional cooking and sewing routine, but delves into human relations, consumer action, gourmet and microwave cooking, tailoring, teaching of young children (have you seen our children's center?), decorative arts (rugmaking, needlework, macrame, weaving), and managing your hard-earned money wisely.
