The Frosh-Soph Wrestling Team finished third in the league stand- ings with an overall record of 6 wins and 3 losses. The team stand- outs were freshman Joe Quink with six pins; Sophomore heavyweight Kevin Aherns who established an 8-2 rec oxxl as well as the Silver Creek Invitational Heavyweight Championship at the MHAL finals. David Bradley, Darren Trone, Dennis Hagland and Greg Francisco all placed fourth at the MHAL finals. Santa Teresa wrestlers completed their first season with a 5-8-1 record. Highlight of the season was a 5th place finish in the SAN LORENZO DUAL MEET TOURNAMENT. Mike Profit (191 lbs.) and Norris Williams (hwt) each won tournament championships to provide the Saints with two of the top heavyweight wrestlers in the Central Coast Section. Other Saint Grapplers with winning records were Curtis Rodriquez, Bob Martinez, and Frosh Phil Danko. If enthusiasm means anything, the Saints are bound to be a top MHAL contender soon. Over 75 wrestlers turn- ed out this year and 40 completed the season. Six of our Varsity wrestlers had never competed in High School wrestling prior to the 74-75 season and only one had competed on the Varsity level. With a years experience, Santa Teresa wrestlers are now looking forward to next season. Standing: Coach Wade, Darryl Gora, Scott Bowman, Bill Cliff, Jim Craig, Jeff Richards, Tom Logan, Mike Marine, Augustine Rodriquez, Kirk Carlson, Gary Gant, Duane Deister. Kneeling: Mike Cote, Jim Muller, Alan Jones, Mike Small, Jim Williams, Jeff Kubitz, Davie Jones. Santa Teresa's Frosh-Soph Soccer teams first year was a good one. The team had a winning season with a 5-4-1 record. No team scored more than 1 point against the Saints with Darrly Gera and Mike Small in the goal. Other defensive standouts were David Jones, Jeff Richards and Jim Craig. The top mid-field man was Alan Jones. The offense was led by Jim Williams, Chris Cabacungan, Jim Muller and Mike Cote. The team voted Dave Jones the MVP and Chris Cabacungan the Ml. The high point of the season was beating Oak Grove 1-0 in a well played game. The future looks great for the baby Saints as 7 of the 11 starters were freshman. Look for a League champ- ionship next year! FROSH SOI’II SOCCER
