During the 1974 football season, the Santa Teresa Var- sity Football Team went through a true Baptism of Fire. The Saints were to play one of the most difficult schedules in the Santa Clara Valley. The Saints, having no senior class, set out on a most difficult task. The lack of experience along with early season injuries to key players, resulted in a 0-9 season. With the return of every Varsity player, the 1975 team should have a highly successful year. 138

The J.V. football team went through a most difficult time in '74, but never gave up or lacked team spirit. The team was small because so many players had to be used on Varsity. They always gave a good account of themselves. With a 0-9 season, the team could have easily given up, but they constantly played representative ball. 140 JUNIOR VARSITY
