To become the major, David submitted his name and wrote a few sentences why he wanted the position. Veres wanted a drum ma- who was a good leader, was respected by others, and was a musician. 5? H 4A The band marches onto the field and gives another awesome performance. 4 Ed Gutierrez prepares for Band Day com- petition by perfecting his piece. 44 Dave Adams and jeff Lovett are only a part of the unusually large trombone section. Veres felt that last years band was excellent , and that the over-all performance was higher than previous years, mainly because he had increased the requirements for membership. Veres was busy with several other musical groups both direc- ting and playing the clarinet. I'd be a stale person ifI weren't in- volved in outside activities. Plus it makes me a better director, Veres commented. He hoped the members would remember the tremendous pride in taking the field, and the excitement of a great performance.
