One period of the day during all tour years of high school is devoted
to English grammar. The second hour includes social studies in its various
aspects. The ninth grade includes the background of the world's cultures,
tenth grade receives the background of modern civilizations, eleventh
grade learns of the history ot the United States, and in the twelfth grade
the local, county, state, and national governments are studied.

The science department offers eight courses in science. ln these
courses the student is provided with an opportunity to gain experience
in basic scientific procedures as well as learn fundamental concepts.
The nature of these depends upon the course enrolled in.
ln addition, as science plays an increasing role in our lives today,
we all should have certain basic scientific understandings on which to
