The favorite pastime was movies, a nightly procession of Hollywood's best and worst. This was varied by smokers, where fast action in the boxing ring had the spot- light, or by Happy Hours, where the ship's swing artists and entertainers organized a show for the rest to enjoy. Qccasionally a nearby ship's band came aboard to provide a welcome hour's diversion of music and novelties.
