BOY OF THE YEAR: I-lmbmb Wootaw Bert gained recognition as boy of the year for his scholastic ability, cooperation, and participation in many school activities. His outstanding school spirit is respected by the students as well as the faculty. He is Vice President of the National Honor Society. He attended Boys' Stateg won honorable mention in the State Masonic Essay Contestg and won the Eloy Conservation District Award. Bert has been a mem- ber of the Future Farmers of America four years, holding various officesg belongs to the lettermen's clubg and is student body president of Santa Cruz High.

GIRL OF THE YEA!-Z Baabwwf Wfdglsb Barbara was named girl of the year by the faculty for her enthusiastic interest and ability to achieve a given goal. Her quiet, courteous, lady-like manner won for her the praise of everyone at Santa Cruz. Barbara is a member of the National Honor Societyg is Editor of the Whirlwindg and attended Girls' State. She was chosen D.A.R. Citizeng won first place in the Voice of Democracy contest and attended the Publications workshop. She is Secretary-Treasurer of the Pep Club and is Vice President of the Senior Class.
