Mr. Berryhill presents another deserving student, Joyce my Jordon, with her certificate to National Honor Society. The Santa Cruz Valley chapter of the National Honor Society was chartered the second semester of the school year 1952-1953. To qualify for membership in this organization, a student must show qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and service. They must maintain a 2.0 average for a complete year, and receive a majority vote of the faculty. A member's curriculum must include college preparation subjects and two activities. The new members are given a formal initiation at the beginning of the second semester. 5I 2

Our high school Student Council is organized to emphasize democratic procedures. Three major offi- cers, together with two representatives from each of the various classes help promote inter-school relations.
