BAND The Sanla Clara Union l-ligh School Band, under lhe direclion of Mr. Gailord Chamberlain, has proved ilsell lo be a spiriled addilion lo our school. The band along wilh lhe Panlherelles added color and rhylhm ai lhe loolball games in lhe early parl of lhe year. The Panlherelles, carrying lheir brighl blue and gold pompons, were di recled lhrough lheir various drills by Jaque l-loll. The band played al rallies and assemblies, and received much praise for lheir ' Elude Boogie. Anolher greal lavorile of lhe sludenl body was Circus Parade, a number in which dilzlerenl parls ol lhe band rose and played shorl solos. The band, besides playing for baskelball games and loolball games, marched for many of Sanla Clara s parades. ORCHESTRA The Santa Clara Union High School Orchestra has talcen part in various school tunctions. It began the year by playing ditie-rent orchestrations tor the Junior Play and Washington's Birthday, lvlr. Chamberlain has lecl the orchestra through a busy year by also playing tor the Senior Play and a Campbell exchange program. The biggest event tor the orchestra was the Spring Festival, and ending the year tor its tinale was the playing at the I952 Graduation.
