Jimmy Hamilton, a member of this freshman class, was elected student body yell leader. an honor seldom accorded a freshman. The next year. as sophomores, the same class continued to be active in school affairs. There were then 122 students in the class. They elected their oflicers, and, with the able assistance of Miss lViltz and Miss Stichter, class advisors, the sopho- mores started the new year.' On December I6 they presented a jolly Christmas entertainment to the student body. The girls sang appropriate songs, and il novelty Christmas-stocking act fur- nished lively amusement. After the program. Santa Clans and his assistants dis- tributed popcorn to the eager audience. After Christmas vacation, the sophomores. with eleven new members in tlltill' class, went about preparations for their annual party. The gym was decorated with hay, cobwebs, old lanterns and other characteristic objects. Bales of hay were placed about the hall for the dancers to sit upon. Finally, on February 20, came the big event. Good music and a fine floor helped everyone to have a good time. Again. on the 25th,of hfay, the class came to the fore, presenting 1111 interesting and appropriate Decoration Day program in the assembly hall. The class has contributed a fair share toward the athletic prowess of thc school. Seamans, Loughran, Pizzo and Cipolla played limited basketball, while Seamans and Cornaggio played on the baseball team. The class of '30 was well represented in the three one-act plays, with .lohn Gomez and Jess lValls taking leading parts. The originality and ingenuity of the sophomores were expressed when Rleanore De Soto won first prize for the best costume at the girls' jinks. As in other things, the class is high in scholarship, boasting of fifteen boys and girls on the honor roll. Much is expected from this year's sophomore class as next yearis juniors They expect to take active part in managing student body affairs. if'ms'r Sl'1Ml'IS'1'1'1Il ililill .losi-:rn .........,, C,x1.v1N Simms .......,. .l'Il'IllBl4IllT Huowx ,,.,, H l'2Rlil'LR'l' Vlilzizlm ..... lloI.LIs IAIUGIIRAN, ...... ...... . l'iioi:m1: HlXlNlII.'1'fJN .,.... .,,..., OFFICERS President.,..,,,,, .......Vice-Presirlent.....,. ,,,.,,,,,Seeretary,,,,,,,,,.., ...,,,Sergreant-at-Arms,.....,.
